Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Stroud office. A deposit may be required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance, along with a security deposit, is generally due upon vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, a comprehensive inspection is necessary to identify any pre-existing damage, which should be reported to us immediately. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. It is expected that the vehicle be returned in the same condition as it was received, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. When returning the vehicle, please ensure the fuel level matches that at the time of collection; refueling charges will apply for any discrepancies. Late returns may incur additional fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you foresee a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges accrued during the rental period, in addition to an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts are outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial responsibility. Review these options closely, as you will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, except when covered by extra insurance. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to appear may incur charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Prohibited uses of the vehicle include any illegal activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky behaviors is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized third parties is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding specified passenger or weight limits, or operating the vehicle outside designated geographical boundaries without consent is also prohibited.
Violation of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Stroud will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount paid within the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be exclusively resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
