Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, associated charges, and your responsibilities for the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria

- To rent a vehicle through Car Hire in Stroud, drivers must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may apply based on the type of vehicle, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid full driving license suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must be provided. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Stroud office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required at the time of vehicle collection. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, securely processed through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Collection and Return
- At the time of vehicle collection in Stroud, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage. This should be reported immediately, and a vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further insurance is obtained. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse will be your responsibility, irrespective of existing coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses in Stroud
- Prohibited activities include any illegal use of the vehicle, such as racing or off-roading, and transporting hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden, as is exceeding weight or passenger limits. Use of the vehicle outside agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations

Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not affect liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for instances of fraud.
